Hypertension and hypercholesterolemia are an association, but not necessarily for another. The reason why people with high blood pressure often have high cholesterol, is because people with high blood pressure some of the risk factors as smoking, diabetes, are overweight.

High cholesterol can cause high blood pressure when the arteries to the kidneys become narrowed by cholesterol deposits. When this happens, believe that the kidneys that blood pressure is low and there is a hormone that increases blood pressure. Smoking causes damage to the interior of blood vessels to facilitate cholesterol deposits to form. Obesity leads to elevated levels of cholesterol deposits in the promotion of vessel walls.

    Hope this helps
